I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. This might actually be my second favorite of the summer so far. If you like comedy, this film is one to try. Right from the beginning I was laughing. It’s not jokes-funny… I don’t really know how to describe it except that it’s brilliant film making.
The cinematography in this movie is amazing. The entire space of the frame is utilized. Things are going on in the background as well as the foreground. I’d imagine it’s one of those movies where every time you watch it you discover something new. The landscapes are beautiful, the characters are great, the score is epic, and the story itself is ridiculously entertaining. This movie is a breathing piece of art.
Never heard of it before? The basic plot is that these two young lovers run away together, and the town is turned upside down trying to find them. This movie really is worth it. All the actors are brilliant: Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Bill Murray, and Jason Schwartzman all make this movie as much as the kids do. Give this a shot; it’s a breath of fresh air in the comedy genre.
